You can take out a new contract but you will be liable for the line rental on your existing contract for the remainder of the contract period. You will need to call you existing provider to advise you want to cancel the contract they usually require a 30 day notice period.
N.B. If you cancel you current contract you will be liable for remaining line rental up to the contract anniversary date.
If you take out a new contract on the same network then you will have to take a new mobile number and cancel your existing contract. If you take a new contract on a different network you can keep your existing number.
Normally your new handset will be delivered within three working days.
The serial number on your handset is also known as the ‘IMEI’ it’s normally found underneath the battery. It’s a good idea to keep a note of this number in case your phone is ever lost or stolen.
N.B. you can retrieve this number by entering *#06#.
The PUK code stands for ‘Pin Unlock Code’ and will need to be entered if you’ve locked your SIM by repeatedly entering the wrong PIN code. You will need to phone your network provider customer services for you PUK code to unlock your SIM.
